To set up your Trezor hardware wallet, follow these steps:
Step 1: Visit Trezor.io/Start
Open your preferred web browser.
Navigate to trezor.io/start.
Step 2: Select Your Trezor Model
On the Trezor start page, select your Trezor model (Trezor Model T or Trezor One).
Click on the image of your Trezor model to proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Install Trezor Bridge
What is Trezor Bridge? Trezor Bridge is a software that facilitates communication between your Trezor device and your computer.
If you do not have Trezor Bridge installed, the website will prompt you to download and install it.
Follow the instructions to download and install Trezor Bridge for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux).
Step 4: Connect Your Trezor Device
Use the provided USB cable to connect your Trezor device to your computer.
Ensure the device is securely connected.
Step 5: Open Trezor Wallet Interface
Open a web browser and go to wallet.trezor.io.
The website will detect your Trezor device and prompt you to proceed with the setup.
Step 6: Initialize Your Trezor Device
Create a New Wallet: If this is your first time using Trezor, select "Create a new wallet".
Recover Wallet: If you have an existing Trezor wallet, select "Recover wallet" and follow the instructions to enter your 12, 18, or 24-word recovery seed phrase.
Step 7: Backup Your Recovery Seed
If creating a new wallet, your Trezor device will generate a 24-word recovery seed.
Write down the seed words on the recovery seed card provided in your Trezor package. Do not store this seed digitally or share it with anyone.
Confirm the seed by selecting the words in the correct order on your Trezor device.
Step 8: Set Up a PIN
Choose a secure PIN for your Trezor device.
Enter and confirm the PIN to complete the setup process.
Step 1: Access Your Trezor Wallet
Connect your Trezor device to your computer.
Open a web browser and go to wallet.trezor.io.
Enter your PIN to unlock your Trezor device.
Step 2: Managing Your Assets
Dashboard: View your account balances and recent transactions.
Receive Funds: Click on the "Receive" tab to display your wallet address for receiving cryptocurrency.
Send Funds: Click on the "Send" tab, enter the recipient’s address, amount, and send the funds.
Transaction History: View your past transactions under the "Transactions" tab.
Step 3: Adding and Managing Coins/Tokens
Supported Coins: Trezor supports a wide range of cryptocurrencies. To manage different coins, go to the "Settings" tab and select "Cryptocurrency" to enable the coins you wish to manage.
Custom Tokens: For Ethereum tokens, you can add custom ERC-20 tokens by selecting "Ethereum" and clicking on "Add Token".
Step 4: Using Trezor with Third-Party Wallets
Trezor can be integrated with third-party wallets like MetaMask, MyEtherWallet, and Electrum.
Follow the integration guides provided by these wallets to connect your Trezor device.
Recovery Seed: Store your recovery seed in a secure and private location. Never share it with anyone.
PIN: Use a strong and unique PIN for your Trezor device.
Firmware Updates: Regularly check for and install firmware updates from the Trezor website to ensure your device has the latest security features.
Phishing Attacks: Always access the Trezor wallet through the official Trezor website. Be cautious of phishing attempts and fraudulent websites.
